HUGE summer tote

So I've been searching all over the place for a great big (reasonably priced) bag to haul all of our summer goodies. I never found one. Enter this tutorial from DESIgns

We had our first pool excursion yesterday and I really wanted to make it for our outing. The tutorial only used 3/4 yards of fabric but since I had already purchased a whole yard of the material, I made it out of all of it. WOW! Huge is an understatement! Only $2.99 for the fabric, and about an hour of my time. Sweet!!

Just to put it in perspective of how big this bag actually is.....take a look....

Here's the tote.....all folded up.

I think I might make some more. :)

  2. Thanks! It worked out pretty nice. I'll make you one for nothing! It would have been better with pockets but I liked it none the less.

  6. Yippee! I only saw two prints of the utility fabric at our Joannes, but I've been meaning to check online. Still haven't mailed Mag's package. I'm a slacker!

  7. The lady at the fabric store was trying to tell me the fabric was a flannel but I knew she was smoking crack. Unfortunatly, when I found a lady who did know what I was looking for she informed me that they didn't have anymore...so sad!
